Who Can Join?
Any public or nonpublic school district or educational agency is welcome to join MISIC.
Benefits of Joining
The consortium is focused on many aspects of the school improvement process. To support its member districts, the
consortium provides:
Access to the consortium's core curriculums in math, reading, language arts and science.
Use of the consortium's computerized tests that are based on the core curriculum.
A performance assessment item bank aligned to the core curriculums.
A wide variety of free trainings and workshops on using data, making instructional choices, school improvement planning
and other topics of interest to the members.
Support materials for using test data.
Alignment documentation for the Iowa Technical Adequacy Project.
Quarterly networking meetings.
Vastly reduced costs of the NWEA On-Site Test Administration Workshop.
Opportunities to collaborate on projects leading to improved student learning.
Workshops on curriculum and assessment issues.
Opportunites for teachers with common teaching assignments to work together on consortium projects.
District-level support for using and implementing the core curriculum and the consortium tests and materials.
Assistance with understanding and fulfulling state mandates.
How Can You Join?
All new members sign a 3-year agreement with MISIC and pay both joining fees and annual dues. To obtain an agreement letter
